one afternoon is all you need
Okay… so this isn’t an “afternoon ep.” This is just a song made on my iPad. The tune was created in one evening, so that’s kinda like an afternoon. Some final touches were done on another evening with Sarah.
Like it or not, sometimes I’ll just be posting songs on here.
You’ll just have to accept that.
One day, a few summers back, my old friend Elliot Jackson rolled into town, and we proceeded to spend the afternoon writing and recording a tune. We established the order of the parts of the song as well as the notes by randomly drawing letters and numbers out of a box. Jackson suggested this method in order to avoid falling prey to our typical songwriting habits. Though we didn’t manage to create an entire “afternoon ep’s” worth of music, our strange process yielded an interesting little tune that I refer to as “Cigars.”
